Participation in the 16th World Scout Moot – Portugal 2025

The Moroccan Organization of Scouts and Guides participated in the 16th World Scout Moot – Portugal 2025, held from 25 July to 3 August 2025, as part of one of the world’s major international gatherings for young adult Scouts.

Representing the Organization in this global Scout experience were Leader Jibrane, Leader Al Yaacoubi, Leader Mohamed Mnia, and Leader Lamia Ait Hammou, who joined thousands of young people and Scout leaders from different countries and cultures.

Organized under the framework of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and hosted by the Portuguese Scout Federation, the World Scout Moot offered participants a unique opportunity to experience international Scouting, discover Portugal and engage in a programme combining adventure, learning, community engagement and intercultural exchange.

The Moot began in Lisbon, where participants gathered for the opening of the event before embarking on the Portugal Deep Dive experience. Divided into international patrols, participants followed different Paths across several regions of Portugal, discovering local communities and taking part in educational, cultural, outdoor and community-based activities.

Following the Paths experience, participants came together at the main camp in Mata do Buçaquinho, Ovar, creating a truly international Scout community where cultures, experiences and ideas were shared.

For the representatives of the Moroccan Organization of Scouts and Guides, the Moot was an opportunity to develop personal and leadership skills, strengthen international Scout connections and exchange experiences with young people from different parts of the world.

Their participation also contributed to the representation of Moroccan Scouting on the international stage, offering an opportunity to share Morocco’s culture, values and Scout experience while discovering new approaches and practices within the global Scout Movement.

Through its participation in the 16th World Scout Moot, the Moroccan Organization of Scouts and Guides reaffirmed its commitment to opening new horizons for its members and encouraging young leaders to engage actively in major international Scout experiences.
